Anti Virus & Spyware
Anti Virus software is vital. New data files are released in response to new virus threats and regardless of how good anti virus software is, there is no protection against the latest threat without the latest data file.
Ponticello will ensure your anti virus software is kept up to date. We will advise on measures to reduce risk to your computers and the most cost effective anti virus software package to install.
Anti-virus software and firewalls do not fully protect your system against spyware and privacy threats. Spyware is commonly bundled with software downloads, attached to e-mails, or transmitted through networks so it can appear to be legitimate software, but once installed it can be nearly impossible to detect and remove without the help of dedicated spyware removal tools.
We will install and configure software to remove and protect against further instances of spyware.
Backup
The single most valuable item in ICT is data you have created. Hardware can be replaced, operating systems can be reinstalled but data can be lost forever. There are many viable backup solutions; floppy disk, tape, DVD or CD, external or removable disk drives. Selecting which backup solution works best for you depends on many factors but Ponticello has the expertise to design and implement a robust backup system.
Proactive monitoring of all Servers Routers and PCs
Detail of computer activity is recorded in the event viewer. Thousands of entries can be recorded for each computer every day. Event viewers are designed to help system administrators diagnose and resolve problems but reading such a large amount of data is often too time consuming. Even if there is time, the logs are in techno speak. Using unique tools we will interrogate event viewers on every computer, filter important information and send it back to our offices for analysis. We will do this for every computer, every day.
By checking event viewers we will spot problems relating to: disk space, memory, backups, unexpected shutdown, power on errors and many other processes that affect smooth running of computers and the network. Because your business is unique, we will fine-tune the process and tailor it for specific applications you use.
In most cases when there is a problem, we will know it before you do.
Software Updates
Software updates help PCs to run more efficiently. Once installed, they reduce the risk of system failure, hacking and virus attack. XP - the most recent PC operating system from Microsoft – has over 60 updates and 2 full service packs so, with more then two updates per month, the task of keeping computers up to date can be daunting.
Ponticello will check all your computers and regularly update them with new security patches, updates and the latest service packs.
Remote Control Support
Using specialist software we can connect to remote computers, view screens and control each PC as if we were actually there. This is a fantastic aid to telephone support, the number of visits and total support costs are reduced.
